Things I Believe or Things That Are True

- The film “What the Bleep Do We Know!?”,… it’s bullshit, nonsense, and pseudoscience. As Dr. Lisa Randall, a theoretical particle physicist describes it….it’s “the bane of scientists”.
- Trump is a terrible President. Arguably our worst President ever.
- Planned Parenthood should be funded.
- Breastfeeding is natural.
- Aspartame (Nutrasweet) is perfectly safe and so is sucralose (Splenda).
- Eyewitness testimony is incredibly unreliable.
- Rape which happens to males and females is never the victim’s fault.
- Homosexuals deserve human rights.
- Many Americans saw the candidacy and election of Barack Obama in 2008 as evidence that the U.S. was now a post-racial society when in reality we weren’t even close.
- Transgendered people are their preferred gender.
- Feminism isn’t about female superiority.
- Most Muslims aren’t terrorists.
- For 99% of the population, gluten is a natural and perfectly healthy food protein. (see: How many people do you know who have a psychosomatic allergy to gluten?)
- Most Christian aren’t terrorists but make no mistake there are very clearly Christian terrorists around us too.
- The United States is not a Christian Nation.
- It’s okay to disagree with and criticize Islam, but it’s not okay to hate Muslims. (Likewise the same goes for Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc etc.)
- There are many things that cause kids to act hyper and overly excited. Sugar isn’t one of them.
- There is no god (or gods).
- The Earth is 4.54 billion years old give or take 50 million years. Not 6000.
- There is no such thing as “Leftover Bacon“.
- The CIA did engage in torture. And probably won’t ever again.
- Obama is an American born citizen.
- While a Vitamin C deficiency leads to scurvy taking it will not prevent or help alleviate a common cold.
- Benghazi wasn’t a conspiracy.
- Astrology is pseudoscience.
- Tumeric is Wonderfully Tasty But It’s Not Medicinal
- The healing powers of crystals is bullshit pseudoscientific nonsense.
- Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) is a scam and a sham an no your particular company isn’t different from all the rest.
- Trickle down economics doesn’t work nor has it ever worked.
- I do NOT believe in ghosts or spirits roaming the earth (or anywhere for that matter)
- Gun violence is a public health crisis.

- Cryptids (animals whose existence has never been proven by science, such as Bigfoot) are folklore at best, mystical mythical creatures, and pseudoscience at worst.
- Intelligent design is creationism and entirely unscientific.
- Obama hasn’t destroyed the economy and in fact the opposite is true.
- Corporations are not people.
- There is nothing wrong with MSG. It’s the Umami, the fifth taste. Nothing wrong with it at all and there never has been.
- There is no “life after death”.
- The “Raw Milk” craze is mostly scientifically ignorant nonsense and potentially deadly.
- Numerology is illogical bullshit nonsense.
- Coconut Oil is a great cooking oil becase it doesn’t oxidize under high heat but 99% of the health benefits you hear people saying coconut oil has are nonsense. Its nothing special.
- Fox is not news.
- The TPP (Trans Pacific Partnership) will not survive in its current form nor should it.
- The HRC email server saga is much ado about mostly nothing.
- The threats and risks from herbicides and pesticides in our food supply for the consumer are actually very small and people fears are way out of proportion to reality.
- People should live beneath their mean but never lose their aspirations.
- Return everything you borrow
- Wi-Fi is Safe
- Feng shui (the spiritual aspect) is nonsense.
- GMOs are safe
- Vaccines are safe

- Homeopathy is just water (RTOL posts on Homeopathy)

- Organic food is not healthier
- Alkaline diets are nonsense
- While Lyme Disease is very real Chronic Lyme does not exist (see PLDS or Chronic Lyme?)
- Humans are causing global warming
- The earth is not flat
- “Detoxing” is an unscientific scam.
- ADHD is real, very real.
