As a life long suburbanite up until a couple of years ago I had this whole story in my head about how factory farms were taking over and stomping out family farms all access the county. A few years ago I decided to dig in and do a deep dive in to how I came to think the was I did about agriculture, GMOs, and family and factory farming and realizes just about everything I thought I knew was wrong. A big one I had really really wrong the myth of factory farms taking over family farms, The truth is that 97% of farms are family owned.
