This shows once again that how important the perception of your ability is compared with your actual ability. Many women (in particular) have a problem with being a “Jack Russel” due to a whole row of complicated reasons.

Just have a look at this video next time you start down-talking yourself about what you can and cannot do. Be a Jack Russel when you need to. Go get that grant!

Also, consider people like David Avocado Wolfe. He knows jack shit about medicine or biology. He is just Jack-Russeling people. People perceive him as knowledgeable though he probably barely passed high school biology.
