Climate & Climate Politics

In the style reminiscent of ‘Baghdad Bob’ that pillar of journalistic integrity and accuracy the Canada Free Pres published this piece from serial denial propagandist Alan Caruba with a June 16th 2013 dateline: The Continuing Collapse of the Global Warming Hoax. It’s really just a repost of one of the wingnut Caruba’s Warning Signs blog posts (dateline June 16th 2013).

Why the emphasis on datelines? Well a couple of paragraphs in the The Continuing Collapse of the Global Warming Hoax article reads:

Despite President Obama’s incessant claims that the Earth is heating, scientists in both Russia and China have been publishing data from scientific studies disputing the Big Lie of global warming/climate change.

The Chinese Academy of Sciences—50,000 members strong—recently published “Climate Change Reconsidered and Climate Change Reconsidered: 2011 Interim Report”, two hefty volumes with more than 1,200 pages of peer-reviewed data on climate change published byThe Heartland Institute in 2009 and 2011.

This seems to ignore the fact we know the The Chinese Academy of Sciences has done no such thing and has in fact demanded a retraction and apology from the Heartland Institute. Its just one of the many egregious errors and lies in the piece but given that even the Heartland Institute has killed their web page making that claim it illustrates that Careba and the Canada Free Press are perfectly willing to write and publish disinformation they know full well is false and misleading.

A great quote I picked up from watching the video:

From Charles Darwin’s The Descent of Man (1871)

Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge: it is those who know little, and not those who know much, who so positively assert that this or that problem will never be solved by science.

It has often and confidently been asserted, that man’s origin can never be known: but ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge: it is those who know little, and not those who know much, who so positively assert that this or that problem will never be solved by science.
